  • 2. Hathaways nipples steal the show25/02/2013First there was Angelina Jolies right leg, now there isAnne Hathaways nipples.Jolies odd leg plant at last years Oscars created a waveof online mirth. This year bloggers were quick to, err, leap on Hathaways nipples after her dress attractedmuch attention.A Twitter account called AnneHathawayNipples wasquickly set up, and within less than two hours had 2300followers.An excessive display had already attracted Hathawaymore attention than she wanted in recent months. At the Les Miserables premiere in New York inDecember she chose not to wear underwear. Thatwardrobe decision became apparent to a bevy ofphotographers as Hathaway climbed out of a high SUV.So the prominence at the Oscars of her nipples, accentuated by the stitching on her dress, wascomparatively demure. It also helped that Hathawaywas looking superb in the pale pink Prada gown.
  • 3. James Fox to Announce $100,000 UFO Reward…….for Proof of an ET Spacecraft02/27/2013HUFF POSTNearly every day, videos, photos and eyewitness accounts of UFOs pop upon the Internet. Some are hoaxes. Some are quirks in the weather. Some sightings are neverexplained and forevermore remain UFOs.The photo above, taken by Hannah McRoberts on Vancouver Island in British Columbia in 1981, is considered one of the most credible UFOpictures.Still, never has there been widely accepted positive proof of an extraterrestrial spacecraft, though there are those who believe variousgovernment agencies around the world have conspired to hide the truth. Now, however, if someone can prove otherwise, they will be $100,000 richer.Filmmaker James Fox will make this announcement as part of the promotion for his upcoming movie The 701, inspired by the Air Forces two-decade UFO study, Project Blue Book. The massive study into 12,618 UFO sightings, which ended in 1969, was able to explain away all but 701 of these sightings.Fox, who previously directed Out of the Blue (2002) and I Know What I Saw (2009), will reveal the $100K challenge at the 22nd InternationalUFO Congress (IUFOC), which begins Feb. 27, in Fountain Hills, Ariz."One of the aspects that sets our film apart is the producers commitment to bringing forth never-before-seen evidence. As part of this effort, were offering a $100,000 reward for the best proof that some UFOs are alien spacecraft," Fox told The Huffington Post exclusively."This material can be in the form of a photograph, video or film footage or debris from an alleged crash site. But it must be able to withstandscientific scrutiny by our chosen panel.
  • 4. Dead in the WaterWhich diseases can you catch from drinking water that’s had a corpse floating in it?Feb. 22, 2013, at 7:03 PMThe body of a Canadian tourist was discovered in a water tank on top of a Los Angeles hotel on Tuesday. Localhealth officials have ordered people not to drink the hotel’s water (though tests indicate that the water did notcontain harmful bacteria). Would drinking corpse water make you sick? Not necessarily. If the body belonged to a generally healthy person, you might get sick from E. coli or anothercoliform bacteria from the deceased’s intestine. But that’s unlikely. Most bacteria don’t survive long outside ofthe living human body, so pathogens would probably die in the water before they could do you any harm.Bacteria also thrive only within a certain temperature range, so hot or cold weather could hamper their spread, too. (A representative of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health told NBC that a cold spell mayhave prevented the spread of bacteria in this particular case.) And since drinking water is treated with chlorineor other disinfectants for the express purpose of killing harmful fecal bacteria, dangerous germs have an evensmaller chance of survival in a water tank than in, say, a lake. However, coliform bacteria, which occur naturally in healthy people’s lower intestinal tract and feces, couldconceivably diffuse through the water and survive long enough to make you sick. When ingested, coliformbacteria can cause diarrhea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal symptoms, but they’re treatable withantibiotics.

  • 9. Chinese Student’s Bicycle Seat Breaks and… Gyah!On 21 February, reports of a loud “Phfffft” sound were heard aroundthe world. Experts traced the source of this sound back to the analsphincters of millions of Chinese netizens simultaneously shudderingupon hearing this tale of a bike ride gone terribly, terribly wrong.According to China’s tt.mop and weibo.com websites, the youngstudent was riding to the first day of school for the year. It was a dayyoung students all around looked forward to as one of hope, learningand new experiences. But for one boy his first bike ride to school was to become anyone’s worst nightmare. In what must have been a one-in-a-billion fall, the bicycle’s seat got bent over exposing a cold, merciless steel rod which penetratedthe boy’s buttocks. The seat was unable to be removed.Firefighters were called to the scene and used the Jaws of Life to detach much of the bicycle from the boy’s rear end. He was thentaken to hospital by ambulance with a large portion of the bike still emerging from his butt.Thankfully medical staff was able to remove the bike from the boy’s anus and he was released without serious injury… Well, physicalinjury at least. Mental scarring is expected to be terminal. When the story hit Japanese websites, readers responded with a range of emotions from “Ack” and “Eeeeish” to “Gyaaaaa!”When asked about the procedure of removing the steel frame from the young man’s rectum a doctor replied: “Rectum? It damn nearkilled him!”Source: Weibo.com, tt.mop.com (Chinese) via Vipper (Japanese)

Police: Bloods gang member fromN.Y. hid 100 bags of heroin in his anusFebruary 22, 2013NJ.comALPINE — A routine traffic stop led to the rather unusual discovery of a large quantity of heroin on Thursday, according to PalisadesInterstate Parkway police. In a statement, Lt. Michael Coppola said that Sgt. Kley Peralta and Officer Mark Torsiello were patrolling the northbound side of theparkway near Exit 4 in Alpine when they stopped a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer for having unclear license plates and an obstructed view.As they approached the vehicle, they smelled burnt marijuana, and asked for consent to search the vehicle. The driver, 32-year-old Rasoul Speight, of Port Jervis, N.Y., agreed, and the officers found nothing of value during the search, Coppolasaid. However, outstanding traffic warrants were found for both Speight and his passenger, 26-year-old Gary Sylak of Shandaken, N.Y. Bothwere taken to police headquarters, where police conducted an additional search on them.According to Coppola, Speight - who records indicated is a member of the Bloods street gang - had hidden 100 bags of heroin insidehis anus, presumably to avoid them being found during the search of the car. The estimated street value of 100 bags of heroin isaround $1,000 in New York City, and around twice that in upstate New York. Both men were charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of heroin and tampering with evidence. • 11. Electric Mercedes Gullwing Lands In 2013The latest word on the electric AMG SLS “Gullwing” has Mercedes offering the car in 2013 and giving it enough power to leave awhole lot of cars in its dust.Mercedes already confirmed it’s building an electric Gullwing, but the timeline had it reaching production in 2015. Now AMGmanaging director Volker Mornhinweg says the electric supercar will be heresooner. He’s driven the prototypes — he didn’t sayhow many there are — and promises the car will be as exciting as the Mercedes AMG SLS it’s based on..That’s exactly what you’d expect him to say, of course. But the numbers coming out of Germany suggest the electric Gullwing willbe a sweet ride. The plan calls for four motors with a combined output of 400 kilowatts (536 horsepower) and 649 pound-feet oftorque. The all-wheel drive electric car will wear the same sexy bodywork as the conventional SLS (pictured), which has a 571-horsepower V8 that produces 479 pound-feet of torque.

  • 14. Swiss bikini advert for cigars ruled ‘sexist’Switzerland’s truth in advertising commission has called for thewithdrawal of a “sexist” advertisement for cigars that shows four womenposing in a pool in skimpy string bikinis. The commission (Schweizerische Lauterkeitscommission) ruled that VilligerCigars broke Swiss advertising rules by portraying women in a sexist way.The ad shows the bosomy women standing together in the shallow end of aswimming pool wearing red, blue, black and green bikinis that match thecolours of different cigar tube containers shown separately.Beneath the photo is a slogan, which roughly translated from the Germansays: Variety is pleasure (abwechslung macht freude).Below the slogan are pictures of the cigar tubes.Responding to a complaint brought by an unidentified party, thecommission found that the image discriminated against women. In the summary of its ruling, published on its website, the commission saidthe women have nothing to do with the product being promoted and areused only in an “eye-catching way”.The women are not smoking cigars and there is “no relation between thewomen and the tobacco” and therefore the advertising is sexist, thecommission said.It recommended the company withdraw the advert.
