  • 2. After losing their boats and houses in Super Typhoon Haiyan, fishermen from a destroyed village in Tanauan started building two-seated boats out of abandoned refrigerators and wood. Fisherman Jimmy Obaldo got the idea for the first boat from his children, and soon others followed his lead. These improvised vessels appear to be successfully afloat, and the fishermen are making small catches, as documented by Reuters photographer Damir Sagolj. Nach dem Verlust ihrer Boote und Häuser im Super Taifun Haiyan begannen Fischer aus einem zerstörten Dorf in Tanauan mit dem Bau zwei sitziger Boote aus angespülten Kühlschränken und Holz. Der Fischer Jimmy Obaldo hatte die Idee für das erste Boot für seine Kinder, und bald folgten andere seinem Beispiel. Diese improvisierte Gefäße waren scheinbar erfolgreich über Wasser, und die Fischer machen kleine Fänge, wie von Reuters Fotograf Damir Sagolj dokumentiert.
