  • 1. My Trailer Idea
    By Bobbie Brown
  • 2. Introduction
My coursework idea is going to be a teaser trailer as opposed to a regular trailer. It won’t reveal too much of the plot but will hopefully create an aurora of anticipation amongst my audience viewers. My teaser trailer is going to be classified in the superhero/ fantasy genre.
  • 3. My possible superheroes
  • 4. Most likely chosen superhero
I think that the Tornado is the most original and serious looking out of my selection of superheroes. The costume and props shouldn’t be too difficult to design. The weapon of choice is likely to be changed dependent on audience feedback.
  • 5. Shot type/ Editing
I will be using a pedestal shot type for my superhero. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucaap9mP51w&feature=player_embedded
This shot will be filmed slowly with slow transition fades every few seconds cutting to small action scenes/ explosions/ slow motion punches or attacks and then back to the superhero.
  • 6. Music
My soundtrack will have to be dramatic, epic and full of suspense. I have a friend studying music who is happy to compose a piece orchestrated to how I would like it. The superman theme music is a good example of slow, dramatic music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9vrfEoc8_g
  • 7. Narrative
There isn’t any real storyline at the moment and it won’t be revealed in the trailer as it is just a teaser. However, a narrative will be constructed at a later date. The teaser trailer will end with the superhero about to reveal his secret identity but quick cuts to the end titles before he does.
  • 8. Location
The location of where my footage will be filmed will depend on the superhero. For example, if my chosen superhero was Aqua Peace, my footage will be filmed near a lake or river whereas if I chose the Archer I would chose a forest/ woodland type background. If I selected my favourite superhero (The tornado) I would film in an open area that is easily wind affected so I can capture the grass or leaves on the trees rustling.
  • 9. When will it be filmed?
Again, this relies heavily on the most popular superhero chosen by my target audience. If I chose Aqua Peace then I would film whilst it was raining. If I chose The Tornado I would film whilst its windy and if I chose The Inferno then I would film when its sunny.
  • 10. Questions
Which is the preferred superhero out of the initial designs?
Should my superhero be male or female?
    What weapon should they use?
Can you think of any different superheroes?
Any other feedback would be appreciated :)
