Is your message really that important?

People don’t like to be screamed at

To: people who need to know or act on
CC: people who ought to know but don’t need to take any action
BCC: to protect address privacy when emailing a large group
Assume your use of BCC may be revealed

Do reply all when you have handled something sent to a group
Do not use reply all when your response is not of interest to everyone
Using reply all to emails sent to the whole organization is something you should think VERY CAREFULLY about

You will really annoy EVERYONE who reads an email like this . It doesn’t matter if it is REALLY FUNNY or not.

Please send this reminder about chain letters to 3 co-workers and add your name to the bottom of the list.

If you don’t need one to prepare for a legal proceeding, don’t request one.
