He married, and his wife supported him in his career and helped him all the way to the top of the golfing world.

 • 4. Education

The highest level of education Scotty received was Edison High School. He did not attend a University, however his dad taught him the art of milling club and he learned from experience. Working under some other club makers, he learned quickly.

He designed putters for many companies and was introduced to many of the top players in the game.

Cameron played golf with his father at a young age and continued to play.

 • 6. Ideals

Scotty got his start working in a machine shop owned by a friend of his father’s. He made putters there and quickly developed a unique style. He then began making putters out of his mother in law’s garage. His first start in the golfing industry was when he went to work for a man named Ray Cook. In the Ray Cook Company. He left Cook because of a lack of money. Cameron found his big break when he

John Fry, owner of Fry Golf in California, took a leap of faith and purchased 700 putters from Cameron. This generosity gave Scotty the confidence and the money to help launch his career.

 • 9. Mistakes

Not taking a chance until later in his career was the only mistake made by Cameron. He worked under Cook for very little salary, under paid for his skill sets. It was not until he branched out that his career hit its stride.

 • 10. Current Status

Scotty is now partners with Titleist and Cobra under the Acushnet company. In 1994 Titleist opened up their bank account and fought off competition from five other companies. They signed a contract with Cameron and acquired the rights to the Scotty Cameron name. The financial backing of Acushnet has helped Cameron become one of the premier names in the golf industry. Cameron’s putters are now milled by a third party with Scotty’s designs and

 • 12. Buisness

Scotty has a partnership with the Acushnet company. It is a Limited partnership because the Acushnet holds the liability but there are three smaller companies working with the Acushnet company.

 • 13. Philosophy

The philosophy of Scotty Cameron has always been one of the highest quality and precision. Cameron putters are known for their precise attention to detail and great feel. This is a great accomplishment because of the high quantity of putters made by Cameron.

 • 15. Name

All of Camerons putters have the name Scotty Cameron stamped on it with his many different artistic designs.

 • 16. Fact

An interesting fact about Cameron is that he designed putters for many of Titleist’s competitors such as Mizuno and Cleveland. This was right after he started his own business, the Cameron Company. This Company didn’t last very long because of his offer from Acushnet.
