    1. Speed Sourcing – Get the Ball Rolling, Rolling, Rolling… Dorothy C. Beach, CIR
    2. The Problem…
      • Being asked to do the impossible search in a short timeframe – jump starting your search through profiling
      • Feeling you are not time efficient in your sourcing – efficiency tricks
      • A WISH – You have a continual string of candidates coming to you – keeping the ball rolling
    3. Impossible trick…
      • Picking a rabbit out of a hat
      • Monster or LinkedIn comes to the rescue
      • Starting to calibrate with the client
    4. Profiling the Target Candidate..
      • Sourcing takes the most time
      • Done well it can compress the rest of the recruiting cycle
      • Two Compression Camps: Phone and Internet sourcing
    5. Using the Internet for Profiling…
      • Consumer research has this nailed – who is going to be the target for your position?
      • It’s called finding their habits and practices and then their triggers.
          • What is the age group?
          • What would they belong to?
          • Is company branding important to their image?
          • How do they sell themselves?
          • What do they consider important for their personal brand?
    6. Internet Profiling…
      • Alternative titles through job descriptions, profiles on LI and Google search
      • Use keywords, triggers and acronyms in AIRS Google/Yahoo strings
      • An example when it might not work…
    7. Profiling an MRI Field Engr – Phone Sourcing…
      • Who are these people?
      • Problem: Can’t get the names from the corporation they represent – don’t report to an office – few employees know who they are and jobs are rarely advertised
      • Strategy: Calling into the hospital and talking to the MRI techs – know your products* and use a script!
      • Survey technique* – 80% success rate and the recruiter found the info useful
      • Result: 25 names/day – very quick for someone so imbedded
    8. Favorite efficiencies…
      • Set engine settings to view 100 links at a time (top three are Google, Yahoo and MSN)
      • Use equal signs instead of quotes in Yahoo and Google
      • e.g.: electronic=recruiters=exchange
      • Use the Links bar to store common AIRS search strings* and useful sites
      • Google’s define: command for acronyms
    9. More efficient…
      • Adding Alexa.com or Google Maps to your Links bar to get related links to a site*
      • Building at least one network well – LinkedIn is still #1 for quick search to GET IN – use your ATS for this too!
      • Cont F – to find keywords on a web page and Cont H to format those lists for your Excel ATS upload
    10. Keeping the ball rolling…
      • List serves of those hard to find people (use Google Groups to search for this)
      • Newsletters on a trial basis to seek out new members/promotions/news
      • Google/Yahoo alerts for layoffs in target industries*
