  • - Four Major Industry quadrants. This list is not exhaustive, but fits most of the different job categories that exist out there. - The framework is used to understand in a simplified manner how the industry is segmented and how different vendors’ certification programs fit into the different quadrants. - This framework can be used to measure the growth in jobs and where the industry is headed.
  • This segmentation explains how different job types or functions fit within each quadrant. Try not to argue too vehemently which belongs where. The main ones will either belong in one segment or another. They are used to give examples of the quadrant, not meant to be definitional. We can probably add film and photography into the media areas as well.
  • - Here I have tried to fit by example some of the typical certifications from vendors or third party non-profit organizations. • What is the ICCP?
    • The Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP) established in 1973 by the major professional associations in North America to provide centralized exam development and testing for the Information and Communications Technology industry.
    • ICCP certificate holders have to exhibit comprehension and knowledge of stringent industry fundamentals , not single product specifics.
    • The ICCP is an independent certification organization that offers five (experience based, professional level) professional credentials, the
      • Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP),
      • Certified Computing Professional – CCP,
      • Certified Data Management Professional – CDMP,
