  3. 4. Benefits to Going GREEN It boosts operational efficiency It increases customer satisfaction May lower operational and maintenance costs in the long-run Increases employee comfort & productivity Improves indoor/outdoor environmental quality

Shippers Warehouse will consider these initiatives in future industrial developments when possible <ul><li>Light colored, reflective roofing on warehouse projects, which: </li></ul><ul><li>Helps reflect sunlight and reduces the “heat island” effect. Promotes more efficient HVAC usage. </li></ul><ul><li>Rainwater collection efforts </li></ul><ul><li>Create system to capture and collect rainwater runoff from the roof. </li></ul><ul><li>Water can then be used for a variety of purposes, including landscape </li></ul><ul><li>maintenance or vehicle washing. </li></ul><ul><li>Consider contracting with some localities to use “Grey water” for landscape </li></ul><ul><li>upkeep. </li></ul><ul><li>Using partially treated waste water to feed lawns and shrubbery. This, plus rainwater recovery, can have a noticeable impact on overall water usage. </li></ul><ul><li>Attempt to use building materials suppliers located within the metropolitan Atlanta area instead of out-of-state suppliers – reduces the amount of mileage trucks need to travel to deliver materials. </li></ul><ul><li>Focus on materials that provide better climate management within warehouses and Distribution </li></ul><ul><li>Centers. </li></ul><ul><li>Installations of ready rooms in packaging operations. See next slides that follow. </li></ul>
