Ingredients of the Sun and Earth

  1. 1. BIG HISTORY PROJECT / LESSON 4.0 INGREDIENTS OF THE SUN AND EARTH Look at the Ingredients of the Sun and Earth worksheet and review the list of chemical elements. Based on what you know of how stars form, predict what the most common elements are in the Sun and in the Earth. Then, put a star next to the element that is most common in each. Think about what happens when stars die. Based on what you have learned so far, what do you think happens to the elements left over after a star dies?
  2. 2. BIG HISTORY PROJECT / LESSON 4.0 INGREDIENTS OF THE SUN AND EARTH Based on what you know about stars and planets so far, mark all of the elements that make up more than 2% of the Sun and the Earth. Place a star next to the element that you think is the most common for each.
