  • What is listening for specific information?  A very common type of listening  Similar to the reading skill of scanning  Thinking about what we need to understand and listening for that information.Ex. Name of an object, telephone number,date, year, etc.
  • How to listen effectively? Read questions quickly before listening and predict what kind of information they need to listen. Underline the key words and find the synonyms of them Use the knowledge to guess the answer the speakers can say. Don’t try to listen for every word, should pay attention to where needed information is and try to catch it

  • CORAL REEFS1. Coral reefs play an important role not only in the health ofocean and human, but also in 1 ecomony2. Corals look like 2 rocks , but actuallythey’re little animals, called Polyps.3. A kind of 3 algae which lives inside thetissue of each polyp, uses sunlight to synthesize food for polyps.4. Animals that live on the coral reefs can create 4 unique chemicals which are never found on the land.5. Reefs also protect coastal communities from 5 storms and erosion6. Using destructive methods, like 6 poison and blast fishing can disrupt the balance of ecosystem during a very long time.
