The global economy is in a transition to a more efficient and equitable entity, where betteruse of natural resources to achieve sustainable growth is the focus. Also, it is to be noted that economicdevelopment today must ensure that future generations are left no worse off than current generations.In the green economy, there are green entrepreneurial potentials and opportunities. Promotion of greenenterprises is pivotal for achieving economic and social development that is environmentallysustainable. Increasingly, countries are developing policies and implementing strategies to reduceemissions, develop more efficient energy scenarios and improve waste management. A broader policyagenda for climate-resilient strategies and sustainable growth that also reduces poverty isemerging. Evidently, this has far reaching consequences for employment generation and overall wellbeing. Waste management, sustainable and green energy sectors are some of the emerging greensectors that can significantly contribute to new job creation and entrepreneurial opportunities.Green Enterprises: some concernsGreen Industries which are based on green technology are promising growth sectors. However, in orderto promote this sector, the Government must support them through green oriented financial policies.Also, it is to be noted that promotion of green enterprise and green economy require favorable legalframeworks, policies, strategies and a regulatory environment that has strong institutions with strongapex leadership to provide financial and non-financial services.Green enterprises can substantially contribute in reducing pollution and environmental degradation. Buthow far industries are aware of their responsibilities?
