Context: <ul><li>c. 13,000 businesses within the borough* </li></ul><ul><ul><li>we have less than 1% as members </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Stand alone networking events are no longer enough </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Too much competition in this space and in many cases are charging less </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Needs cannot be met with a ‘one size fits all approach’ </li></ul><ul><ul><li>different ‘life-stages’ and sectors need to be appreciated </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Lessons can be learnt from the other Chambers </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Liverpool has become a genuine ‘hub’ and spokesperson for the local business community </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>They have a significant member base and are able to command a huge premium (£1,500+ per person) for some of their events </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Wandsworth Chamber is in a fantastic position: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>It can be flexible </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>It’s not-for-profit and therefore independent </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>It can open doors </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Most people have heard of it even if they don’t know what it does </li></ul></ul>Background

Idea 2: Platform Lunch <ul><li>Monthly opportunity for local businesses to network </li></ul><ul><li>Each lunch offers members the opportunity to win a 5 minute slot to present their offering to the room at the next session </li></ul><ul><li>Those that want to participate put their card into a hat.  3 cards are drawn at random, those people then deliver their presentations at the next lunch meeting </li></ul>Ideas
