2. Mufti Day
On Friday 20th (Next Friday) we will be holding a
mufti day to support a great cause! You need to
wear something blue and bring a gold coin
donation. We will be supporting Tara Remington in
her mission to row the Pacific Ocean. She is doing
this to raise money for Charlotte Cleverley-
Bisman. Here is some more information about the
cause!
3. Charlotte Cleverley-Bisman born on the 24 November
2003 on Waiheke Island was diagnosed with
meningitis at a very young age. Both of her arms and
legs were amputated, as the meningitis affected her
limbs. She is a determined fighter that doesn’t let her
cause hold her back. She is now 11 and does most of
the things her friends can do. As Charlotte would say
“No Limits No fear Just fun”.
4. What is Meningitis?
Meningitis is when the central nervous
system (brain and spinal cord) is
surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid. This is a
life threatening illness.
5. Why are they going and Who?
Atlantic Ocean World Record Holding rower, Tara Remington and her
friend Angela, are heading out again to row the Pacific Ocean from Long
Beach, California to Waikiki, Hawaii. Along the way she hopes to raise
funds for Charlotte Cleverley Bisman. Charlotte was able to attend Camp
No Limits in August 2013. This camp for kids with limb loss is an annual
event that gives amputee children the chance to participate in exciting
activities and learn new living skills. Together we can get Charlotte get
7. Latest Updates!
At the moment Tara has been battling sea sickness and
bad weather. They have had to stop rowing and deploy
their sea anchor because of the bad weather. Both of them
are currently living in a single person hull of the boat. Now
that would be a tight squeeze! You can follow Tara’s
progress on her weebly page.
