        • The University of California, Los Angeles
        • The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
      • This is a minimally invasive procedure Dr Pazmino uses to treat spinal fractures
      • These fractures are often caused by falls and are a result of osteoperosis
      • The Kyphoplasty was designed to provide rapid back pain relief
      • Through a 2 or 3 millimeter incision Dr Pazmino places small probes through the skin and directs them towards the fracture
      • Next Dr Pazmino Inflates a tiny baloon to create a small working channel in the bone and around the fracture.
      • Through this small working channel Dr Pazmino places a small balloon.
      • Next Dr Pazmino inflates the balloon and in doing so he restores the height of the vertebral bodies which were fractured
      • Next Dr Pazmino deflates the balloon and the cavity where the balloon was is ready for cement. The cement will be used to maintain the desired height.
      • Next Dr Pazmino removes the balloon and the probe and prepares the cement
      • Next Dr Pazmino places cement in one milliliter increments. Watch as the cement fills.
      • Cement is slowly filled into the canal.
      • Here it is ¾ filled
      • Once the cement is completely filled the probes are removed
      • Here note the cavity is completely filled with cement and fracture height has been restored
      • Both three millimeter incisions are closed with Dermabond and patients can shower immediately after the procedure
      • All procedures are performed by two Spinal Surgeons.
      • All our procedures are performed
      • in a minimally invasive manner.
      • All discectomies are performed as a microdiscectomy as opposed to the traditional open discectomy.
      • All patients receive a plastics closure and are followed closely afterwards
      • Thank you for your time.
      • If you know someone who could benefit from a consultation for Fractures or Pain please refer them to our online website or call toll free to schedule an appointment
