Paper raises some challenging issues on the need to create awareness and to invest in preserving and disseminating the memory of sport events as part of the cultural and historical heritage of cities, by sharing the experience of the project Barcelona Olimpica, based and resulting from the history and memory of a key and unique moment in Catalan sport history: the Barcelona'92 Olympic Games

Samaranch Collection The President of the International Olympic Committee, Juan Antonio Samaranch, donated a section of his personal library on sport and Olympism to the Barcelona Olympic Foundation. This important collection, which includes over 5000 titles, has been complemented by works on his life and person.
