  • net303 net303 I disagree what your point here “failure to give truthful and accurate information about users will lead to the users account being terminated (Forsquare, 2011). As discussed by Social Networking, 2010, when any users want to register an account, consider not using the real name, especially the last name (Social Networking, 2011), because may violate the term of service of some social networks. Again, I agree, what the point your second point here “when you delete your user submissions, they will be removed from the service, but does not mean they are gone forever”. As discussed by Social Networking, 2011, it is difficult or confusing to cancel an account and instead direct dissatisfied users to “deactivate” account (Social Networking, 2011). According to Online Privacy, 2008, “identity thieves, scam artists, debt collectors, stalkers and corporations looking for a market advantage are using social networks to gather information about consumer” (Online Privacy, 2008). That means, companies that operate social networks are themselves collecting a variety of data about their users, both to personalize the services for the users and to sell to advertisers (Online Privacy, 2008).
