    2. Perlas de Cuentos can be used as emergency/substitute lesson plans or as makeup lessons for students who miss class. They are designed to last 40 – 45 minutes. There are 20 questions for each story. They are narrated in Spanish and have English translations. Click on the leprechaun to get the English translation. Click on the leprechaun again to return to the original slide. Click on the Sun to get back to the story.     5. Vocabulario Nuevo Duende = leprechaun Arco iris = rainbow Olla de oro = pot of gold Comparte = s/he shares Va a tocar = s/he is going to play (instrument)
    6. Hay un duende que se llama Ian. A Ian le gusta mucho tocar el violín.
    7. There is a leprechaun named Ian. Ian likes to play the violin a lot.

    10. Ian vive en Dublin, Irlandía. Quiere tocar el violín en Martes para los marcianos. Pero, no sabe como llegar a Martes. ?
    11. Ian lives in Dublin, Ireland. He wants to play the violin on Mars for the Martians. But, he doesn’t know how to get to Mars. ?

    15. Therefore, he decides to speak with his two friends Jack and Jerry. He asks them, “How can I go to Mars? I want to play the violin for the Martians.

    18. Jack le dice – Debes subirte a un pato y vuela a Martes.

    22. Ian le responde – No me gustan los patos. Hablan demasiado.
    23. Ian answers “ I don’t like ducks. They talk too much.”

    26. Jerry le dice – Martes está en el espacio exterior. Necesitas subirte a un cohete y vuela al Martes.
    27. Jerry says to him “Mars is in outer space. You need to get on a rocket and fly to Mars.

    30. Ian le responde - ¡Qué idea tan terrífica! Voy a subirme a un cohete y voy a volar a Martes.
    31. Ian answers “What a terrific idea! I am going to get on a rocket and I am going to fly to Mars.”

    39. When Ian arrives on Mars, he sees a big, beautiful rainbow. He has an idea. He is going to look for the famous pot of gold.
