Although it supports a sparse population in modern times, the Burren is home to a profusion of flowers and plants not found elsewhere in Europe. Also to be found are hundreds of ruined forts, megalithic tombs, caves, and underground streams.

 14. 14. XPERIENCE ENGINEERING PROJECT 2008/2009

This year we took part in a new project called 'Xperience Engineering'. We had to create a project in line with the theme 'Engineers Save Lives'. We chose a sub-theme of 'Road Design' for our project, taking particular interest in the new Atlantic Corridor being built along the west coast of Ireland, and especially the M18 Gort-Crusheen road which is currently under construction.

Here we are visiting construction site of the no. 63 bridge on the N18 bypass from Gort–Crusheen
