LIMESTONE PAVEMENT

Tubber is in north-west Co. Clare on the edge of the 100-square-mile plateau of lunar-like limestone. Although it supports a sparse population in modern times, the Burren is home to a profusion of flowers and plants not found elsewhere in Europe. Also to be found are hundreds of ruined forts, megalithic tombs, caves, and underground streams.

In April/May of this year, we undertook our second school mural, on a wall in the playground of our school. We chose the theme of "Irish Myths & Legends" for this mural. We wanted to depict local legends with well-known Irish myths in the project. Our mural is divided into five 'panels', each depicting a seperate legend/myth.

School Mural

We chose a sub-theme of 'Road Design' for our project, taking particular interest in the new Atlantic Corridor being built along the west coast of Ireland, and especially the M18 Gort-Crusheen road which is currently under construction.

Here we are visiting construction site of the no. 63 bridge on the N18 bypass from Gort–Crusheen
