  3. 3. "Classic Rice Krispies Cakes60g unsalted butter3 tablespoons Golden Syrup1 x 100g bar of milk or dark chocolate90g Rice Krispies1.  Melt the chocolate in small bursts in the microwave orover a bain marie (in a bowl over a saucepan ofsimmering water)2.  Add the butter, cut in to small pieces, stir in till melted3.  Add the syrup, stir4.  Add the Rice Krispies and stir in to the chocolate mix,gently5.  Spoon in to 12 bun cases6.  Refrigerate until solid5
  4. 4. "Rice Krispies Cake Base1.  Use the classic Rice Krispies Cakes recipe2.  At step 5 spoon the mixture into a cake tin and flatten (onewith a removable bottom works best)3.  Refrigerate until solid4.  Remove from tin and decorate with your choice of sweets Cornflake Cakes1.  Use the classic Rice Krispies Cakes recipe2.  Substitute Rice Krispies with Cornflakes Weetabix / Shredded Wheat Cakes1.  Use the classic Rice Krispies Cakes recipe2.  Substitute Rice Krispies with crushed Weetabix or ShreddedWheat3.  You can make these in nest shapes and fill with mini eggswhen hard Rice Krispies Cake Lollies1.  Use the classic Rice Krispies recipe2.  Refrigerate until semi-solid, but not completely or you’llnever get your lolly stick in3.  Cut into squares and insert lolly sticks4.  Back into the fridge until solid5.  Melt some chocolate, white, milk, or dark and dip half ofeach square in the chocolate6.  Use sprinkles, or chocolate flakes etc. to decorate7.  Refrigerate until the chocolate is solid Honey and Chocolate Rice Krispies Cakes1.  Coat a few cups of Rice Krispies in runny honey in a bowl2.  Melt some milk chocolate in a ban Marie or in themicrowave3.  Mix the honey Rice Krispies mix with the chocolate4.  Spoon into individual cases5.  Refrigerate until solid Variations of the Classic6
  5. 5. "Mum’s Mars Bar Cake1.  Cut up 3 Mars Bars and place in a saucepan with 3oz ofmargarine2.  Heat gently until melted3.  Stir well and add 3 cups of Rice Krispies4.  Press the mixture into a container or tray and set in thefridge5.  Cut into squares Butterscotch Crunchy Nut Cakes1.  Use the classic Rice Krispies cakes recipe2.  Substitute Rice Krispies with Crunchy Nut Cornflakes3.  Substitute milk chocolate with Green & Black’s ButterscotchchocolateChoc Crispy Slab1.  Melt a packet of marshmallows in a large pan with 2 packsof good quality cooking chocolate, stir continuously2.  Mix in a variety size box of Rice Krispies until they’re allcovered3.  Press into an oblong tin and set in the fridge4.  Cut into squares once setChocolate Oaty Squares1.  Use the classic Rice Krispies cakes recipe2.  Substitute Rice Krispies with rolled oats3.  Add chopped glace cherries, sultanas and nuts to taste4.  Press into a tin and set in the fridge7

  7. 7. "Crunchy Nut Ice Cream SundaeCrunchy Nut CornflakesIce cream in a flavour of your choiceStrawberries (or any other berry), choppedMaple syrup / chocolate sauce / toffee sauce 1.  Spoon your chosen flavour of ice cream into a bowl or along glass2.  Crush your Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and sprinkle overthe ice cream3.  Cover with chopped berries and syrup or sauce9
  8. 8. "Krispie Ice Cream Flan2 oz. butter2 table spoons golden syrup2 table spoons cocoa powder3 oz. Rice Krispies2 oz. seedless raisins2 firm bananasIce cream1oz. walnuts, chopped1.  Chop the butter into cubes and place in a pan with thesyrup2.  Melt over a gentle heat3.  Stir in cocoa powder4.  Add Rice Krispies and raisins5.  Press into a 9” flan dish6.  Slice bananas and arrange on top7.  Spoon ice cream on top of the bananas and sprinkle withchopped nuts1010
  9. 9. "Fruity Crispy Squares4 oz. sugar4 oz. margarine2 oz. cherries2 oz. sultanas4 oz. dates5 cups Rice KrispiesApproximately 5 oz. chocolate 1.  Melt margarine and sugar in a pan2.  Add sultanas, chopped dates and chopped cherries3.  Simmer for about 10 minutes until soft, stir throughoutto stop mixture sticking to the pan4.  Place Rice Krispies in a bowl and pour butter and fruitmixture over them, stir thoroughly5.  Scoop into a Swiss roll tin and press down firmly6.  Melt chocolate and spread over the top7.  Cut into squares once cooled11
  10. 10. "Nutty Fudge4 oz. peanut butter12 oz. sugar4 oz. evaporated milk3 table spoons drinking chocolate4 oz. butter6 oz. rolled oats1.  Combine sugar, drinking chocolate, milk, and butter ina pan over low heat2.  Stir until butter is melted3.  Cook for 2 minutes4.  Add peanut butter and oats, mix well5.  Pour into a greased tin and cool over night in thefridge6.  Cut into squares1212
  11. 11. "Coconut Surprise2 cups Cornflakes2 cups of self-raising flour1 cup caster sugar1 cup of coconut1 cup of sultanas or currants½ cup of cherries10 oz. margarine1.  Preheat oven to 180 C, Gas mark 42.  Lightly grease or line an oblong baking tin3.  Melt margarine in microwave in a large bowl4.  Add remaining ingredients to melted margarine andmix well5.  Bake in oven for approximately 20 minutes6.  Allow to cool and cut into squares13
  12. 12. "Apple Pancakes with Porridge Oats100g self raising flour100g porridge oats100ml sparkling water100g milk4 eggs1 pinch salt1 apple 1.  Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughlywith a wooden spoon2.  Thinly slice one apple3.  Put a little oil in a frying pan and heat4.  Pour a small amount of batter into the pan and placean apple slice on top, flip when brown5.  Alternatively, grate the apple into the batter beforepouring14
  13. 13. "Weetabix Cake7 oz. sultanas3 Weetabix7 oz. brown sugar½ pint milk1 egg 1.  Soak the Weetabix in the milk overnight2.  Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl3.  Pour into a 1lb loaf tin at 180 C for 1 hour4.  If the cake is looking too brown you can cover it withbaking paper for the last 15 mins15
  14. 14. "Rocky RoadA few cups / handfuls of cerealMini marshmallowsRaisinsChocolate cake / mini muffinsA couple of large bars of milk chocolate 1.  Gather any leftover cereals, or just grab a fewhandfuls from various boxes in the cupboard2.  Mix your cereals together in a large bowl3.  Add in other dry ingredients, marshmallowsetc4.  Crumble your chocolate cake / mini muffinsinto the bowl and mix everything up together5.  Melt your chocolate and mix in with otheringredients6.  Press the mixture into a tray and refrigerateuntil solid7.  Cut into squares and enjoy!16
  15. 15. "Cornflake PiePastryJam in a flavour of your choiceBananasCornflakesSyrup in a flavour of your choice 1.  Line a small baking tin with pastry2.  Spoon a layer of jam onto your pastry base and coverwith sliced banana3.  Mix Cornflakes and syrup in a bowl and spoon themixture over the top of your pie4.  Bake in the oven on a medium heat for 15-20 minutes,or until the pastry is cooked through5.  Serve alone or with custard17
  16. 16. "All Bran Loaf1 cup All Bran2 cups soft dark brown sugar2 cups sultanas1 cup milk1 cup self raising flour 1.  Put all of your ingredients in a bowl and stir untilsugar has dissolved2.  Leave to sit over night, or for 8 hours if you don’t havetime3.  Scoop mixture into a small loaf tin, greased4.  Place in a heated oven (140 C) for one hour 50 minutes18
  17. 17. "Rolled Oat Cookies1.  Pre-heat oven to 180 C2.  Put all of your dryingredients in a bowl andstir3.  Melt the butter, goldensyrup and milk in a banMarie or in themicrowave4.  Pour the melted butter /syrup / milk mixture intothe dried ingredients andmix thoroughly5.  Roll individual balls ofthe mixture around thesize of a walnut andplace on a baking sheet6.  Bake in the oven for 15-17minutes or until goldenbrown7.  Remove from the ovenand leave to cool for afew minutesMakes approx. 15 cookies.3 oz. rolled oats3 oz. golden caster sugar3 oz. plain flour½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda3 oz. butter1 tablespoon golden syrup1 tablespoon milk19
  18. 18. "Easy Flapjacks 150g porridge oats150g soft margarine150g Demerara sugarWalnuts, raisins, dried fruit (optional)1.  Cream together sugar and margarine2.  Blend in porridge oats3.  This would be the time to add any optional extras4.  Press into a baking tray5.  Bake at 220 C for approx. 10 mins6.  Mark squares when hot and cut when cooled20
  19. 19. "Coconut Flapjacks1.  Preheat the oven to 180C / 350 F / gas mark 42.  Lightly grease a 23cm(9in) square baking tray3.  Place butter and goldensyrup in a large saucepanand stir over a low heatuntil melted. Removepan from heat4.  Stir in soft brown sugar,rolled porridge oats,flour, and desiccatedcoconut and mix well5.  Carefully turn themixture into the tin andspread out evenly6.  Bake for 15-20 minutesuntil golden7.  Allow to cool and cutinto squares or triangles.8.  Optional: cover withmelted chocolate175g butter25g golden syrup140g soft brown sugar175g rolled porridge oats55g plain wholemeal flour55g desiccated coconut21
  20. 20. "Fruit & Nut Crispy Squares½ cup liquid honey½ cup natural peanut butter1/3 cup packed brown sugar3 cups Rice Crisp cereal1 cup finely chopped dates½ cup toasted peanuts2 table spoons toasted sesame seeds 1.  Grease or line 13 x 9 inch metal cake pan2.  In a large saucepan, bring honey, peanut butter andsugar to boil over a medium heat, stirring untilsmooth, for about 2 minutes3.  Add cereal, dates, and peanuts; stir until coated4.  Scrape into prepared pan, press in firmly5.  Sprinkle with sesame seeds and leave to cool6.  Cut into squares and enjoy22

  24. 24. "Crispy Medley Bake2 tomatoes, chopped4 table spoons cooked peas1 can of tuna (6 ½ oz.)1 can condensed mushroom soup¼ pint milk4oz grated cheese½ oz. crushed Cornflakes1.  Place tomatoes, peas, tuna, salt, and pepper in the baseof a 1 pint casserole dish2.  Blend milk and soup and pour over tuna and veg mix3.  Cover with crushed Cornflakes and cheese4.  Bake for 25 mins at 375 F26
  25. 25. "Broccoli Chicken4 chicken breasts1lb broccoli1 can condensed soup or cheese sauceCrushed Cornflakes 1.  Place broccoli on the base of a casserole dish and placechicken breasts on top2.  Pour over condensed soup and crushed Cornflakes3.  Bake for half an hour at 150 C27
