  • 1. Case Studies: Branding and Graphic Design
  • 2. CASE STUDY: 2010 Lakeshore Soccerfest Tournament Identity Graphic Design Print Management Tie-dye Colors Budget Management Project Brief: Bazza Design was asked to help design, refine, and manage the graphical output of the 2010 Lakeshore Soccerfest soccer tournament logo and it’s application on a variety of media. The logo was created in a vertical fashion to set it apart from past designs. In a vertical form it became slim and athletic looking. The two and three color designs were selected for cost reasons to reproduce. The intention was to create a vibrant and exciting logo that would appeal to 8-13 year olds (the main buying market at the tournament). Usage of players in action combined with this years world cup soccer ball design made this logo a current and exciting visual. • 3. CASE STUDY: Atlas Ergonomics Corporate Identity Full Brand Creation Graphic Design Photography /Art Direction Print Management Budget Management Project Brief: Atlas Ergonomics came to Bazza Design with the need to create its corporate Identity and its corporate communications. I took a technical and simple approach to the look of the logo, based on Atlas’ focus on human measurement as part of what they provide as a service to their customers. In this same vein, I provided designs for their business collateral, three fold flier series and a customer binder stuffed with eight 8.5x11 case study sheets. 1 of 3 different Gate Fold fliers Business Card Logo Development Case Study Sheets
  • 4. CASE STUDY: Donnelly Graphic Standards Brand Identity Graphic Design Print/Screen Print Management Budget Management Project Brief: Donnelly Corporation needed to organize and fine tune its corporate graphic standards for consistency and clarity. Was tasked to bring this together in one document that would be the graphic design “Bible” for the corporation to live by. The corporate graphic standards included logo usage, application of the logo, collateral materials, color usage, signage design, and font usage. Also included were formulated color chips that were perforated just like the pantone color books for the Donnelly PMS green. Worked closely with an outside consultancy to design and produce the final result. The graphic standards manual was an award winning design featured in Creativity 19.
  • 5. CASE STUDY: IDSA - Michigan Newsletter Special Edition Graphic Design Print Management Budget Management Project Brief: As newsletter editor for the Michigan Chapter of IDSA, I was responsible for the creation of the chapter’s newsletters. This special issue was an “annual product design review” version of the newsletter. I solicited new product design submissions from Michigan designers to be published in the issue. With those submissions the design layout was created to emphasize the features of the products. Cost being a concern, the newsletter was printed in only two colors, but utilized two matching recycled paper stock colors to add a richness to the design at no extra charge. The issue was an award winning design featured in the design book: Graphic Design on a Limited Budget.
  • 6. CASE STUDY: Grand Rapids Spring and Stamping Brochure Brand Development Graphic Design Photography /Art Direction Print Management Budget Management Project Brief: Grand Rapids Spring & Stamping had not had a new promotional brochure in over 10 years. They asked Bazza Design to help them create a cost effective, versatile and modern looking hand out that would show every aspect of the company’s product lines and their unique approach to manufacturing. The solution became a series of ‘flier” like inserts with matching folder. The folder gave GRSS the flexibility they wanted to add or subtract components to customize what they might give a customer.
  • 7. CASE STUDY: Hutzel 1996 Christmas Card Graphic Design Hand Crafted Project Brief: I produce a hand made Christmas Card every year. The 1996 version became a faux corporate annual report complete with a letter from the CEO and a review of the “Hutzel Corporate Events”. The design was featured in the juried book Black & White and Two Color Design and the design competition publication Design Sense -Graphic Design on a Limited Budget.
