NBAA in a Day (condensed version)
NBAA came and went quickly this year for us in the Orlando area. That’s because
the Georgia World Congress Center and Dekalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta han-
dled this enormous event October 19-21st. The National Business Aviation Associa-
tion Annual Meeting and Convention has become the 4th largest convention in the
country. As attendees we are able to meet with many of our suppliers, industry
Special points leaders, customers, and long time friends in a very short time.
I had an entire day on Tuesday the 19th to become one of the 24,206 attendees and
NBAA in a Day visit the 1,083 exhibitors. Here is my story...
06:15-Tuesday October 19th-I arrived at Showalter to join our fantastic pilot, Sandy
Showalter, and waited to load into the Aztec with Concierge Extraordinaire, Ed
Cavanaugh, Ruler of Refuelers, J.B. Angel, and the renowned Jenny Showalter. As
soon as we received information Whiskey on ATIS we were wheels up.
09:25-Touched down in PDK! We parked at Epps, stretched our legs and headed

straight to the NBAA Static Display to pick up our badges. From there we hopped
on the bus for the Convention Hall.
Pumpkin Carving 2 09:47-Stepped off the bus and into the Georgia World Congress Center . We
stopped at Starbuck’s and were wired for the show.

10:02-Finally in the exhibit hall! First thing on the agenda is to find the folks we
really need to talk to.
10:40-After making it half way through the convention hall and meeting many
friends, we headed back to the entrance dining restaurant to beat the lunch rush.
11:56-Back to the booths for another round!
2:20-Completing the entire 1st part of the planned agenda, we headed back to the
bus to catch the Static Display.
2:45-Arrived at the amazing wonder that is the NBAA Static Display. With all the
hype around new aircraft and some of aviations finest machines, this is an aviator’s
fantasy land. I also ran into NBAA President, Ed Bolen here and was able to chat
with him for a few minutes.
4:30-Thanked the folks at Epps for their great service and headed south.
