    Toe to in-step
    KNEE BEND, NOT HIP
    Hand down, no weight on fingers
    Flat back
    Opposite hand, cocked, ready to FIRE

    VERY IMPORTANT
    Need 3 to 4 foot splits
    TACKLE CENTER TACKLE
    GUARD GUARD
  • 4. Punch
    Most important part of your block
    On snap of football take your 6-8in step
    Cock arms
    Explode your hips and arms through the block
    Drills and progression
    • Explode from knees (sell out)

  • 6. Drive Block
    First step: 6 to 8in with outside foot, forward, STAY LOW, head up!
    -Load Arms
    Second step: Even out feet
    - Make Contact
    Third step: Drive!
    Drills:
    - Three step progression
    - Bag Drills in Chutes
    - Sled
  • 7. Aiming point
    • Under the shoulder pads
    • 8. Head position: in the chest plate!
  • Down Block
    First Step: 6-8in FLAT step down the line, STAY LOW, Head up.
    Load Arms
    Second Step: Even up, butt in the hole! Cut the man off
    Third Step: Make contact! Drive away from the hole
    Drills:
    -3 Step Progression
    -Chutes
    -Sled
  • 9. Aiming Point
    -Head Across
    -Punch through chest!
  • 10. Reach Block/ Bucket step
    Coaching Point: Aiming point- Base of the outside numbers
    First step: Back foot, backwards! Loose ground to gain ground. Hips towards the sideline
    Second Step: Even up, begin to swing hips
    Third step: Make contact, Swing hips totally towards sideline and drive!
    Drills:
    - 3 step hit drill
    - Press to pressure
    - Bag drill

    First Step: Just like your Bucket step, loose ground to gain ground.
    Second Step: Lower your level, take your inside forearm and explode through the defenders outside knee
    Third Step: ROLL, SCRAMBLE
