Barack Obama “Yes we can” Ahsan Raza, Zack Greenslade “ Because of what we did on this day, on this defining moment change has come to America”
Why is it so important to vote?
There is no control you are letting the Politicians do what they like.
You have no say and you are throwing a away the chance to have a say in the way the country is run.
You should remember the struggle that women went through so much to get the right to vote.
It sets a bad example where would the country be if nobody voted at all.
Why has his win made history?
His victory made history because of the black history in America. Just a little while ago in the US you were not allowed vote if you were black. Then for a black president come in to power is History.
Martin Luther King started the civil rights movement and he had a dream. And would never thought that a black president would lead the US.
Jesse Jackson was also there with Martin Luther King and was crying in Obama’s speech because for a Black man To Lead the most powerful country on earth was only a dream.
How was Obama’s win different.
Obama won by miles against his rival John McCain. His success was due to targeting the younger generation of America. He got his message out by advertising and posting on places like YouTube and A face book.
This made young people want to vote for Barrack Obama. And the results showed.
Barrack Obama
His dad was from Kenya, His mum was from America, he grew up in Indonesia, His mother know lives in Hawaii and is now the president of The US.
At 48 he is the youngest ever president of the USA. He is just as old as JFK was when he became president and he was very successful.
