    • Black History Africans first came to America through of the slave trade, they were traded for sugar, tobacco, weapons and shiny items they were bought back to the U.S on ships and barely fed and inhumanely treated. They were sold to white people to be servants farmers for everything really they were slaves who had none of the essential human rights they couldn't vote coloured children couldn't go to school with white children. on a bus coloured people had to sit at the back of the bus and give up there seat for a white person Everything was segregated. on the 1 st of December 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama Rosa Parks refused to obey bus driver James Blake’s orders that she give up her seat to a white passenger, her act wasn't the first of many but the most important as she took it the furthest and collaborated with civil rights leaders including martin Luther king jr.
    • Martin Luther King was a small time preacher who joined others in a public stand against segregation in the campaign in the early 60’s . Kings efforts led to the 1963 march on Washington, where he delivered his “ I have a dream” speech. There, he raised public conscientiousness of the civil rights movement and est. himself as one of the greatest orators in U.S history He was a public speaker who was great at motivating and encouraging people, he was shot and murdered on the 4 th of April 1968 in Memphis Tennessee. He was a posthumously awarded the presidential medal of freedom in 1977 and congressional gold medal in 2004 and he now has a national holiday.
