Why Implement Workflow• Calculate the cost of the manual process in terms of man hours - include the time it takes to gather information: – (Identifies Cost Benefit of workflow system)• How often does the current process fail? – What is the cost associated with that failure ? – How long does it take to rectify ?

Why Implement Workflow• Create efficiencies in the process (Increase ROI of system) – does the user need to access multiple systems? – does the user need to sift through paper docs? – does a senior person spend time on portions of tasks that could be handled by less skilled (less expensive) staff ?
  4. 4. Why Implement Workflow• Create efficiencies in the process (cont) – Is extra time being spent • tracking the progress of a task • determining where something is in the process OR • determining who it should be assigned to next? – Are multiple people repeating the same tasks?
