Social media has undoubtedly been one of the hot topics for business brands over the last five years - and with technological development showing no signs of slowing down, it continues to be a rapidly evolving area, with new platforms, technologies and engagement opportunities emerging on a monthly basis. Andrew Nicholson, crowned B2B Marketer of the Year in 2011, will talk through some of the latest developments and offer advice on optimising your social channels.

  • And let's not forget that these are all in addition to what we now refer to as the traditional social media benefits such as sales, customer services and reputation management. Notice also that I've missed out the more main stream social networking tools. I've done that deliberately as I wanted to focus on tools built specifically for business. I said at the start that I wasn't going to give you any investment advice. Well it tuns out that's not quite true. Looking at the list above you might note that both Rypple and Radian 6 has been brought by Salesforce, Yammer has just been brought by Microsoft and select minds has just been brought by Oracle. If I was a gambling man I'd say investing in business process social media would be a wise bet right now.
