In order to keep all volunteers of the organization on the same page, I developed a newsletter to include the highlights from each squad as well as details on upcoming events or other important news.

  • 1. CHEER CHAT! JULY 2012THE NOT SO OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER OF GTCA WELCOME TO CHEER CHAT! Cheer Chat! can be used as a resource for staying current on upcoming events, including competitions, fundraisers, meetings, birthdays, and other significant (or insignificant) events. It will also be an opportunity for each squad and administrator/board member to report any news related to our organization or otherwise (ie. cheerleader of the week, birth announcements, promotions, etc.). Ideally, the newsletter will be distributed to each coach, board member, and other administrators by the 1 st of each month and will include a copy of the corresponding month’s Master Calendar. If there are any stories, announcements, or photos you would like to include in the newsletter, please email me by the 23rd of the month prior. This is a fresh idea and I’m positive that Cheer Chat! will evolve over time. This first newsletter is a brief preview of BIRTHDAYS what can be expected going forward. Birthdays will be announced in this section of the newsletter for all squads. It was suggested to take a portion of one practice each month to UPCOMING EVENTS recognize/celebrate the birthdays for the whole month, • July 2nd – There will be a coaches meeting at so there are no cheerleaders left out. Coach Kelli’s house to work on the cheer for the Canal Fest Parade. BRAIN BUSTER • th July 4 – Happy Independence Day! I hope it is For all of the Sudoku lovers: filled with lots of family, fun, fireworks, and (of course) hot dogs! • July 7th – The GTCA Picnic will be held at the Juliano household in North Tonawanda. • July 17th – Canal Fest Parade OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS All coaches are encouraged to choose music for their squads within the next couple of weeks so it can be relayed to Kari for choreography. Coach Andrea has respectfully resigned as a coach of the Mustang squad. We wish her the best of luck! With the Mustang squad being down to one coach, Mariah Bigelow has volunteered to take on the role of coach! Thank you, Mariah!
