  3. 3. Career Summary… Career Choice: IT Specialist IT Specialist work with customers, be it over the phone, through email, or face to face. An IT Specialist can also Description: teach customers how to use computer software or hardware. This entry level job area requires a strong core knowledge in computers and a good ability to interact and communicate with customers on a daily basis. Applications Software, Customer Support, Data Specialty Areas: Management, Internet, Network Services, Operating Systems, Policy Planning, Security, Systems Administration, Systems Analysis

Getting Qualified… Training: The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that an IT Specialist position can be achieved with an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course focus in computer science, management information systems, or a related field. Experience: Three years or more of experience in a variety of IT Specialist positions is highly recommended, many colleges will offer internship programs to help develop a basic background. It is strongly advised that communication and psychology courses be taken as well given the nature of the job.

Job Locations… Who's Employing: IT Specialist is an entry level job in one of the fastest growing areas in the job market and the main employers for IT Specialist are Companies, Government and Foundation/Trust Organizations. Tools exist to help search and apply for this job via the internet. Finding the Job: Creating an online resume and spreading it through websites such as Monster and applying to open positions is the fastest way to get results.

Through experience as an IT Specialist you may even find your passion for another job outside general computer technology as you gain experience with Sales/Recruit, Networking, Field Installation, and Accounting.

Goals My goals are to diversify my education and experience while developing a background in the field of information technology and expand my knowledge of Networking, Programming, and Web Design to pursue a successful career in computers. My accomplishments in High School and completed goals are the first step, my new goals are to get into an accredited and respectable college to pursue my future.
  21. 21. About Myself I enjoy working with computers and helping others. This has been a challenging but self gratifying area to pursue and I could not have come this far without the help of my family and my teachers. Practice makes perfect, and you need to have strength in body and in mind to accomplish your goals in life. I have trained and studied to succeed in accomplishing many goals and will continue to work hard at improving myself even after accomplishing my goals. I am a hard working and am described by others as a strong and respectable leader.
