4. GENERATION
AMTL has already forayed into the field of power generation by entering into a
Lucrative Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam
Limited, Rajasthan for a period of 20 years through a successfully commissioned
11.7 MW capacity of wind power generation in the Jaisalmer District of Rajasthan
in January, 2012. AMTL plans to invest strategically in RENEWABLE energy
technologies and establish itself as a sizeable IPP (Independent power producer)
within 4 years.
AMTLhasplanstoenhanceitsbaseofgenerationandplanstocommissionapprox
50 MW of power generation capacity in the period of next two years for which the
plans have been made and details are being worked out for implementation.
The focus of Power division is power production from renewable energy sources
such as Wind, Mini-Hydro & Biomass.
Our plan to install 50MW of Wind Installed capacity before the end of 2014 is
already underway. We have commissioned our first 11.7 MW of Wind Turbines for
Power Generation in a park in Rajasthan which has already crossed the 4 million
unit generation mark.
We have charted a road-map for commissioning 10 MW of Hydro Power and
20 MW of Biomass Power by 2017. We will own and operate these plants and
supply renewable green power to the National Grid. We are already in the final
stages of negotiation for our 10MW Hydro Power Plant in Himachal Pradesh, India
and our first pilot 1MW Biomass Power Plant in Haryana, India, is planned to be
operational in Dec. 2012.

The Objective of this division is to provide solutions for the efficient
management of every form of energy.
The management service begins with the energy audit process comprising
of an inspection and survey of the total energy consumption in a building,
process or system with the end objective to reduce the amount of energy
used without any negative affect on the expected performance output.
The available consumer base of this division ranges from a single residential
consumer to the largest industrial establishment or commercial complex,
however the focus for now is 3 main areas-
Commercial - Malls, Commercial Buildings etc
Industrial – Energy intensive industrial establishments.
Hospitality – Hotel and Resort complexes.

7. The gap of Power supply & demand may be reduced by Demand side power management i.e. Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency
improvement. The gap can also be reduced by developing alternative sources of energy, which is a costly alternative. The cost of Energy is
increasing substantially and Energy Efficiency is the only solution as it fulfills:
The major benefits of EE enhancement are
1. Bottom Line Enhancement
It lowers energy costs which in turn leads to competitive pricing and improved
margins
2. Corporate Social Responsibility
Your organization will be recognized as a socially and environmentally responsible
Corporate.
3. Legislation compliance
a. Energy Conservation Act 2001 & subsequent amendment 2010
b. PAT & ECBC enforcement is already in place.
c. It is easier to willingly comply now as an alternate to being compelled to do so
under regulatory compliances in the future.
4. Global Warming , GHG Emission & Carbon Foot print reduction
a. As per Kyoto Protocol, GHG emission is to be brought to the same level that it
was in 1990
b. Reduction of Ecological unbalancing, acid rains, sea level rising etc.
Industry is the largest end user of commercial energy in India’s economy. The saving
potential is generally 15% - 30% depending on the sector. You are definitely a
stakeholder in this, depending upon the saving potential available in your organization.
This can be identified by performing Energy Audits or implementing Energy
Management System. This can be done by:
i). Adapting Better Operation & Maintenance Practices
ii). Identifying and improving upon energy guzzlers
iii). Adapting Energy Efficient Technologies
National Mission for Enhanced Energy
Efficiency – For Industries
As a sequel to the Government of India’s
“National Mission for Enhanced Energy
Efficiency (NMEEE),” the Bureau of
Energy Efficiency (BEE) has already
announced an innovative scheme called
‘PAT’ that stands for Perform, Achieve
and Trade. The aim of PAT is to improve
energy efficiency in large industries and
facilitate certification of energy savings
that could be traded. The PAT tradable
certificates offer an incentive to such
industries to reconsider the energy
efficiency projects. The Indian industry
faces the challenge of moving towards
a cleaner and more sustainable path of
efficient & economical production to
become globally competitive.
Energy Conservation Building Code
(ECBC) – For Commercial Buildings
In line with 2010 amendment of EC
Act 2001, Now it is mandatory for any
commercial building (having load more
than 120 kVA) to comply for ECBC and
the National Building Code (NBC) is also
getting amended with additional chapter
of ECBC compliance to encourage the
Green Buildings.
Your interest - By enhancing Bottom Line and minimizing waste
National Interest - By Reduction of import of petroleum products & fuels
Global Interest - By Reduction of GHG emissions & global warming
