There is absolutely no reason this wonderful cookbook should get a single negative review. I am vegan, but I am not a fanatic and accept that others eat dairy and meat. There are maybe 3 or 4 recipes out of all the recipes that call for some type of animal product (egg or fish). I mean she is a "vegetarian". Yes, some "vegetarians" eat fish. Just like you find some vegetarians are fat. Everyone has a different diet. The point is "Is this a good cookbook?", YES it is! If you know nothing of tofu or just want new recipes, it's absolutely perfect. I have food allergies such as gluten and coconut, but even I can enjoy all of them by simply not adding them or substituting with soy milk or whatever. The format isn't so great. It's just plain text, very bland, and no pictures (except on how to cut the tofu). However, if you just look at the ingredients-wow! You know you're going to have a great dish.So you have about 70 fabulous recipes with inexpensive ingredients and tons of veggies and the one of the greatest superfoods-tofu. The majority of the main meal recipes are curries or some type of stirfry-which you should have expected anyway. There are some "American" dishes and italian, mexican, and so on. I am very partial to indian food so maybe that's why I love this book. I had not idea tofu would taste so good with indian spices....Mmmm, I don't even miss paneer. This is the only veg. cookbook that I've found that has a recipe for palak tofu paneer. You just substitute the dairy with plain soy milk and nutritional yeast and it's just wonderful! My presentations are much more appealing for meat eaters as well. How you cut your tofu gives it such a more personal appeal. There are sandwiches, chickenless salads, nottuna dishes, curries, pasta, mayo, noodles, shakes & smoothies, chutneys, soups-it's like all the recipes you want to make with tofu but can't find in other books. Even iced frappe---Mmmmmm! Spicy Red Sausage too...You will like this book because there are some great recipes in here. If you don't want to deep fry then don't, and it never hurt's to fry tofu in 1-2 tsp of oil (just to coat the pan). It's true, you will love every bite.
