I have a foreign exchange student from Germany this year and I wanted to
learn German. I bought this book because I was using Rosetta Stone and
getting frustrated with not understanding WHY things were the way they
were and my German son couldn't explain it to me in a way that made
sense to me. This book does an excellent job of explaining the rules of
grammar and the different cases in German and explaining it in a way that
is easy to understand without treating me like an idiot. I wouldn't use this
book alone as my only source for learning German because pronunciation
is difficult to get from a book but as a supplement to another audio
program it is a great tool.
