The Big Picture Story Bible by David R. Helm - Presentation Transcript

    1. The Big Picture Story Bible by David R. Helm Must Have For Sharing Message Of The Bible With Your Kids No child is too young to begin learning about the greatest love story of all- Gods love for his people, as portrayed in the Bible. David R. Helm and Gail Schoonmaker collaborate to create a beautifully illustrated book of Bible stories especially for children, written with simplicity. Rather than simply retelling the most familiar short scenes from the Bible, this book presents the big picture-the unified story running through the Old and New Testaments. This delightful book will help children learn the Bibles whole story and begin to appreciate the fulfillment of Gods promise to his people. The Big Picture Bible Story Book is perfect for parents to read to their children, and eventually, for children to read on their own. It is an excellent way to introduce them to a book that will guide them through all of life.
    2. Personal Review: The Big Picture Story Bible by David R. Helm I love this book. It a wonderful tool for sharing with my child the message of the Bible. It is not a summary of each or even most individual Bible stories, it is a summary of the entire story of redemption. I ascribe to reformed theology and I think this book is right on. It doesn't explicitly talk about infant baptism or election & predestination, though, so I think this book would appeal to a broader audience as well. The illustrations are rich - they aren't silly & bubbly. I'll let you know that there are pictures of Jesus, in case that bothers you. And I'll disagree with another reviewer that said the people were all sad - true in some pictures the people are sad, but that is when it is appropriate to the text. My 3 year old loves to look at this book & read it with us. The text size is bigger for early readers and there is not a lot of text per page. I also like the size of the book itself, it is a bit wider than it is tall so it stays open and my daughter can look at it by herself without the pages turning themselves.
