Teenvirtue: Real Issues, Real Life...A Teen Girls Survival Guide by Vicki Courtney - Presentation Transcript

    1. Teenvirtue: Real Issues, Real Life...A Teen Girls Survival Guide by Vicki Courtney A+ There have been a proliferation of books on the market for young woman extolling virtue and purity and the value of the Christian lifestyle. But are young girls reading books on virtue and spiritual growth? Or are they reading the teen counterparts to what they perceive as the sophisticated popular adult magazines that promise to reveal (at least the latest) secrets to beauty, fashion, thinness, love, and happiness? Vicki Courtney knows teen girls. Her message is exactly what they need to hear to counter the culture’s lies and distortions about who they are and what they should become. TeenVirtue will give them the information they need in a format they will read. Laid out like a sophisticated magazine, your teen girl will be able to use this book and share it with her friends.
    2. Personal Review: Teenvirtue: Real Issues, Real Life...A Teen Girls Survival Guide by Vicki Courtney I bought this for my baby sister who is 11 yrs old (17 yrs my junior)bc our mom was completely silent about issues of morality and sexuality during my teen years and I wanted my baby sis to have some moral compass at this critical time. It has been such a blessing to my sister and our mom bc it started alot of conversations between them that my mother admitted she never would have started. She thanked me profusely for giving this book to them. My sister is very curious about boys, babies, gays, and tattoos and this magazine addresses them from a Christian worldview without being "preachy" or derogatory. I was impressed by the big emphasis on purity and modesty, two things that are not addressed enough in our culture. And the "teen magazine" format makes it very appealing and easy to read.
