"'Silly Street' reminds me of Dr. Seuss. That was great! I loved all of it. I
like the one about the socks and BooBoo McGrew and the flying pig. The
crocodile wearing sunglasses and the pig jumping on the trampoline are
fabulous. This book makes me laugh! I need to be silly."
Parent's Note:
Grayce laughed immediately when she saw the cover of "Silly Street" and
heard its title. A completely original book, its wackiness reminded us both
of Dr. Seuss. While it appears to be a collection of poems, each one is
about a different store on Silly Street, so it is hard to tell if the author
cleverly packaged the poems together or if he had the idea of a silly street
and then created the vignettes. Either way, it's an entertaining read and
"Silly Street" by Jeff Foxworthy is the book Grayce chooses to look at in
the car on long rides.
