Personal Review: Scholastic Success: Grammar Workbook
Grade 5 (Grades 5)
After my child did poorly in Beestar online assessment tests, I purchased
this book for him to learn and practice grammar. I looked many grammar
books. This is by far the best for elementary kids. Unlike the big tomes that
contain too much complex stuff, this book only deals with the core
language knowledge that a fifth grader needs to know. It covers all
elementary language rules and provides specific drills for each topic. By
following the lessons, kids not only understand grammar rules, but also
know exactly how to apply them in various language contexts. The book is
well organized and the drills are thoughtfully designed. My child's grammar
skills improved significantly studying the lessons. He now often gets on the
Beestar honor roll in language tests. If you need a book to enforce skills or
give a fifth grader an overview of grammar, this is a fine book to start with.
