I really appreciate this book. I bought it in 2007 and have referred to it continually in past two years. Unlike many books in the management genre, it does not delve in half-baked theories nor try to make us think that their one-trick pony will make us a profitable enterprise. This book offers practical, sensible tools which will transform any HR department into a results based organization versus activities based.
Continuing in the practicality of this work, it provides a glossary of terms that sets forth the operational definition of HR metrics. While we might disagree with the formulas and terms, at least they are provided in a clear, concise way so we can determine if they will fit our particular situation.
I highly recommend this book as a starting place for those in HR that desire to achieve the mantle of being a strategic leader.
I hope you find this review helpful.
