    1. Leading & Managing Occupational Therapy Services: An Evidence- based Approach by Brent, Ph.D. Braveman Ot Text Book The first text designed specifically to follow the outline and accompany the presentation of the Management course, now required for all MOT and Baccalaureate OT programs! Its primary goal is to introduce students to the use of theory, research and evidence in guiding their practice as future occupational therapy managers. As occupational therapists are becoming familiar with the concepts of evidence-based practice relating to clinical interventions, the same process of identifying, evaluating and applying evidence should govern practice as an occupational therapy manager. Instead of a how-to approach, the author encourages students to think in terms of these concepts.
    2. - Covers the range of key managerial issues and functions from leadership and supervision to policies, program development, and continuous quality improvement. - Uses case scenarios to demonstrate practical application of the theoretical concepts, and text boxes and tables further reinforce and summarize key information. - Offers timely coverage relating to establishing, measuring, and documenting competence given NBCOTs push to establish reliable methods of documenting competence for all OT practitioners, including managers and clinicians. - Encourages students to be responsible for ongoing professional development. - The only text needed for teaching a course to meet the majority of the ACOTE standards related to management. - Featrues easy-to-read, approachable text applicable to real-life situations that engages students. - Provides recommendations for further learning direct students to journals, professional associations and other resources for exploring more about the main chapter topics.
