I have worked in networking, product, computer, software and technical
support (among other jobs) for over 13 years so I am no stranger to
computers or coding, but I was completely new to Joomla about a week
ago, and now I feel like I have a pretty solid handle on what Joomla is and
how it works, and that's largely because of this book.
I'm not even half way through this book (doing all the examples along with
the book) and I already feel like I have a good beginner's grasp of Joomla
and how it works and how to work with it. I've very much looking forward
to doing the next 2 complete web sites that are instructed in the later part
of this book.
This book seems to strike a nice balance between making it easy to
approach the subject of creating websites with Joomla and providing

accurate and technical information about Joomla's features and how they
work.
I was looking for a way to put together fully functional and professional
looking websites with a minimum of coding, and Joomla seems to fit that
bill almost perfectly. I am VERY excited about this new content
management system.I highly recommend this book for anyone (regardless
of coding skills) who wants to Learn Joomla from scratch. It is nice if you
have some exposure to PHP, HTML and MySQL, but honestly once you
have Joomla set up, you can probably forget those codes and just
concentrate on creating nice web pages.
