Personal Review: Henry Yans Figure Drawing (Techniques and
Tips) by Henry Yan
I was introduced to this lovely book by a fellow artist during a figure
drawing session. I was immediatly drawn to the variety of mark-making,
the energy of the strokes, the language he used to express himself. From
the simplest gesture drawings to the most complex, he is heavy on
illustration and direct (brief) with his tips. A great balance of all stages of
drawings - gestures, short poses, and fully developed figure drawings and
portraits. (Yan was also nice enough to respond to a post I created on my
blog reviewing the book - and commented on my work! icing on the cake!)
