Personal Review: Cat Heaven
A friend gave me this book just last week. I had to have my 1 1/2 year old
cat, Loki, put to sleep back in December due to a brain tumor. The week
before "the act", I was deep in thought and study about whether or not
animals have a place in heaven. I reached no conlusion. My heart was
already weary after a month of watching Loki's health quickly decline. It
has been several months, but I can still feel that piece of my heart that Loki
took with her when she passed. When my friend gave me this book, I
cried. I cried out of shock, joy, heartache and probably a little frustration.
Ultimately though, I love this book. Even though it's a work of fiction,
designed for children, this book has answered my question. I can't read it
without tears falling, but I continue to read the comforting story every day.
Everything about the book is wonderful. The art is vibrant and upbeat and
it reminds you to reflect warmly on the happy times that you had together
with your pet. This story has touched my soul and this book will forever
have a place on my bookshelf.
