I read this when I was learning to ride horses. Everyone knows dogs and
horses are in wars. Until I read Animals in War I had no idea how many
species were involved in warfare. If you are an animal welfare activist this
book is very important in your arsenal of ideas why animals deserve our
loyalty & love. For the military historian it also is really, really wonderful. If
you are looking for a gift for a veteran who loves animals Animals in War is
a good choice.
