Description: Biological research is delivering experimental data of rapidly increasing volume and complexity, however many current methods and tools used to visualize and analyse these data are inadequate, and urgent improvements are needed. Our lab focuses on developing bioinformatics methods using principles from data visualization, human-computer interfaces and usability – we work on life science literature (http://reflect.ws), the integration of sequences with 3D structures (http://aquaria.ws), signalling pathways (http://odonoghuelab.org/), and biomedical animation (http://vizbi.org/plus). We also lead an international initiative aimed at raising the raising the global standard of bioinformatics software (http://vizbi.org/).
