Concept & Need of Digitization ‘ Digitization ’ is a modern method for preservation of digital contents. Looking at the present day requirement we have to adopt a smart system for knowledge management. Preferably, in present day we have good numbers of Open Source Software (OSS) available for Knowledge Digitization. Digitization as well as preservation of documents is as important as the acquisition, access, and retrieval of information in a Integrated Library System (ILS). In this contemporary environment we need “any where, any time ” information access to the best and up-dated information services in the society. In other words, we need the concept of 24 X 7 X 365 knowledge management. 3
