Company Background <ul><li>VTOL Technologies Ltd was founded in 2002 as a high-technology, product-development company, designing high-performance Vertical Take-Off and Landing [VTOL] Unmanned Aerial Vehicle [UAV] designs for urban, mountainous and maritime environments. (Formula-1 racing cars of the &quot;sky&quot;). Multiple patents have been filed as well as a technology transfer hand-over to a corporate prime contractor of our leading designs. Core technology competencies include simulation and control, real-time, embedded computer control systems development, ground-station software control with a particular emphasis on real-time mapping, GIS, GPS, RF data links, real time vision systems, sensor fusion, signal processing, specialist electric motor control, high-performance fan design and manufacture, composites and rapid prototyping techniques. </li></ul><ul><li>The company has now expanded its presence to provide New Product Development and Systems Engineering services to companies both large and small requiring skilled engineering design support and consultancy services, particularly in specialist areas and technologies. </li></ul><ul><li>The company has won two places on the prestigious E-KTN Innovation Management Academy, as well as having secured a Frost & Sullivan Innovation Technology Award. Other awards include two SMART awards, NESTA equity funding as well as a London Development Agency development grant for £250,000. </li></ul><ul><li>VTOL Technologies Ltd is based at the University of Reading. </li></ul>
