  2. 2. Side Headings In the contents pages there are side headings. They are used to make categories e.g. Cover Story, Regulars and Features. This makes it easier for the audience to find what they are looking for.
  3. 3. Images There are usually a variety of 4 or 5 images which go with the articles to give a visual aid for the audience so they can see what the article is about. There are also captions and page numbers next the images shows what article it relates to inside.
  4. 4. Page Number & Date The page number is in the bottom right or left of the page. This shows the audience which page to find the article they want on (this makes it easy reading). They can be another colour (the same as the title). The date is usually found next to the page number or the magazines name. The date shows the audience if they have the most current issue or not, so they are likely to keep buying the current issue.
  5. 5. The Name of the Magazine The magazines title normally features in the contents page. This helps to create the brand. Subscription Details The subscription details are used to sell the magazine again as it will usually appear cheaper.  they use words like “just” this makes it sound even cheaper.
  6. 6. Columns Contents pages typically contain 3 columns. Colour Scheme  The colour scheme keeps in with the connotations of the genre to show the audience what it is.
  7. 7. Typography The typography of the contents page is very similar to the front cover. It helps to create the magazines brand, the audience then know what to expect. Colours Layout Font Graphic images
  8. 8. The Words Used The contents page uses buzz words. Buzz words show the audience that it is the “best” magazine and they won’t find anything like it anywhere else. It therefore helps to sell the magazines issue. The contents page also contain a word that relate to ‘contents’ like “In This Weeks Issue” and “Contents”. This shows the reader what page they are on so they know the pages purpose is.
