Q7 Looking back at you media preliminarytask, what do you feel you have learnt in theprogression from it to the full product? Looking back to my preliminary task ofcreating a front cover and contents page for aschool magazine I can see that I have improved myskills and knowledge. When we created the schoolmagazine I didn’t know how to use the softwaresuch as Quark Xpress. I later learned how to usethe tools such as creating columns and making thetext flow into the next, resizing an image properly, different font effects and page measurements. Ican see now compared with my latest finished finalmusic magazine that my skills have widelyimproved. Not only have I improved technically Ihave also improved my presentation as the layoutlooks a lot more professional. Also when I startedthe preliminary task I didn’t have vast knowledgeon the codes and conventions, I did know somebut I quickly was taught them the rest of themwhen creating my main task the music magazine. This allowed me to make progression as it madethe final product look more professional, like a realmusic magazine e.g. I learnt how to position thebarcode correctly and how to make the coverlinesmore interesting for the audience and how theycould stand out. I also improved my photographyskills as the images I have recently taken for myfinished product are at a much higher quality andstandard. I can see the difference in the twoproductions and how my main task looks a lotmore like an established music magazine.
