Ebrary tutorial: Creating account, downloading
- 1. Getting the most out of ebrary How to Create an Account, Download ebooks, Manage Your Bookshelf, and more!
- 2. Why create an ebrary account? Allows you to: • Download ebooks • Save ebooks to your own “bookshelf” that you can refer back to • Highlight text and take notes in ebooks • Save and organize your research
- 3. How to create an account: • On the ebrary search page, click on “Sign In” • On the next page, select the blue “Create an account” link
- 5. After creating an account, you can download ebooks! 2 ways to download: In sections • Download up to 60 pages at a time • No special software needed – downloads as a PDF file. Whole ebook • Download the entire book for 14 days only • Must have Adobe Digital Editions software (available online for free download – linked from the ebrary download window)
- 6. How to download ebooks When looking at a book of interest, simply click on the Download button Options: • Download a PDF document of a chapter or select specific pages to download (limit up to 60 pages at a time) • Download the entire book to Adobe Digital Editions for 14 days
- 7. Alternative to downloading: Add ebooks to your bookshelf • Create your own virtual library of ebooks! Click on the Add to My Bookshelf button • Notes and highlighting you have done are saved and easily accessible • Ebooks saved to your bookshelf can be accessed as long as you have an account Image source: public domain image
- 8. Highlight in ebooks • Point your mouse to the beginning of the section you want to highlight, click and drag across entire section to be highlighted • Then click on the highlight button *You must be signed in to your ebrary account*
- 9. Take notes in ebooks • Click on InfoTools, then Create Note • Type notes in the note box and click OK • Resize and move the box as needed
