  2. 2. Cataract Surgery - Process<br />Cut an incision in the eye<br />Remove the lens from the eye<br />Insert a new lens <br />Rest the eye for a week<br />
  3. 3. Cataract Surgery – NDA<br />The Natural Disaster Aid sponsored 20 cataract surgeries, each costing $25. <br />This includes cost of plastic lens, disposables, medicine and surgical center. Eye surgeon does not charge for surgery as he is a Rotarian.<br />Most of the people who are getting eye surgery come from underprivileged section of our society. Some of them are 60 – 75 years old. <br />They are laborers, washer men, barbers, vegetable vendors, maid servant and have other menial positions in society - all of which require eyes to maintain their livelihood.<br />
