  • 2. From 23 June to 19 July Cankarjev Dom will be hosting an exhibi-tionof photographs by Stane Jeršič and Barbara Jakše. Involved inphotography since 1989, their reputation both in Slovenia and inter-nationally has been consolidated by solo exhibitions at the StedelijkMuseum Schiedam in Rotterdam, the Melkweg Centre in Amster-dam, Fotogalerie Wien in Vienna, the Prinz Gallery in Kyoto, thePhotofusion Photography Centre in London, the Lodz Art Centre, the Museum of Modern Art and the City Art Museum in Ljubljana, and elsewhere. Their photographs have also been sold to public andprivate collections, among them the world’s largest collection ofprints and photographs at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. In2004 they presented their book-and-exhibition project Identity ofSpace at the City Art Museum Ljubljana and the book reached thefinal selection at the Rencontres d’Arles photography festival. In their new photographic project, Directions between worlds canstand for combination or alienation. Small or big is merely a matteror perception and, lost in the images we see, we seek the true direc-tion. The Directions series of photographs combines double imagesshot at an oblique angle. On one side is a tract of landscape or urbanarea; on the other, a detail found in it. In both photographs, theselected larger area or small detail is in focus while the surroundingarea remains blurred. The pairs of photographs talk about themicrocosm within the macrocosm, about the little elements that theeye, and with it the camera, seeks in the wholeness of the selectedarea.Sinfo, 06-200923. 06. Zato glavnim odlikam fotografije najbolj ustrezajo kombinirani, izostreni in neostri posnetki: prepričljivo usmerjajo in vodijo po-gled k določenemu cilju, obenem pa omogočajo videz navdihujočeneopredeljenosti in skrivnostnosti. Serija fotografij Smeri- Nebonad Ljubljano Barbare Jakše in Staneta Jeršiča združuje dvojneprizore, posnete pod podobnim poševnim kotom. Dr. Jure Mikuž23. 06. - 19. 07. 2009Kulturni center Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana
