Gulf Of Mexico Fishing

  1. 1. FISHING IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. AT 06:00 AM, STEVE, A COLLEAGUE FROM WORK, AND I TOOK OFF ON A FISHING TRIP IN THE GULF OF MEXICO FROM PIER 19 IN GALVESTON, TEXAS. WE SAILED INTO THE GULF OF MEXICO, ON A PARTY BOAT CALLED “THE NEW BUCCANEER”, A CATAMARAN 85 FEET LONG, 33 FEET WIDE WITH 4 DIESEL ENGINES AND WITH ADVANCED FISH LOCATING EQUIPMENT. WE WERE SUPPLIED WITH ROD, REEL AND BAIT, AND WE FISHED FOR RED SNAPPER. THE RULE WAS THAT WE WERE ALLOWED TO KEEP ONLY 5 FISH. THE FISH HAD TO BE OF A CERTAIN LENGTH. THE CREW CHECKED ALL FISH WITH A TAPE MEASURE ENSURING THAT NO SMALL FISH WERE KEPT. SMALL FISH WERE THROWN BACK INTO THE OCEAN. Arthur
